Founder – matt rood
Matt has a friendly, warm manner that infuses trust in anxious owners and confidence in animals in his care. Having dogs of his own helps him understand the worries that owners have leaving their pets in someone else’s care. Matt prides himself on his superb customer service skills gained from his experience as a first class cabin crew member at British Airways. Matt has impeccable manners and you can be sure you and your pets will be given the first class treatment each and every time you meet.
Matt was lucky enough to be trained by the number 1 Kennel Club Behaviorist Angela White. He has completed his dog behaviour training, in all positive methods, at the International Animal Behaviour Training College (IABTC) based in Doncaster. Matt is also part of the highly esteemed Kennel Club Accreditation scheme for Instructors in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour (KCAI).
Matt’s Experience
Matt Rood is the founder of ROODDOG, he has years of experience within the dog services industry and is a highly qualified dog trainer. If you think you have seen his face before you probably have on the reality TV show “The Dog Hotel” or perhaps your little ones have seen Matts puppy tips on the CBBC’s animaltastic? Matt is the proud owner of two beautiful Hungarian Vizsla’s and has worked with dogs for over 8 years, showing his own dogs up to Crufts level. Matt has a remarkable amount of experience working with dogs from all breeds and temperaments. Highly qualified and extremely passionate about what he does, you will feel at ease leaving your precious dogs in his very capable hands.
Business Development – Steve Wardlaw
Steve is a life-long dog lover, from his first Retriever, William, when he was a teenager, to his current fur-babies Calvin (Standard Schnauzer) and Jasper (Welsh Terrier). Steve trained as a lawyer and throughout his career has helped businesses develop and grow. He is currently chairman of the insurer Emerald Life, which also provides pet insurance to dogs and cats all over the country.
Steve has known Matt for two years and been assisting Matt to grow the business since then. We are delighted that he is going to spend even more time now helping Rooddog to grow and making sure that we keep the smiles on the faces of all our doggie customers!
Jake
Hey I’m Jake! Growing up in Shropshire I’ve always had a love for nature. Living by the farm started my love for animals leading to me getting my old English sheepdog mickey! Mickey is a fun-loving boy who still thinks he’s a puppy!
He now has a little sister Zulu who keeps him on his toes! Five years ago I moved to the seaside in Brighton. Mickey and Zulu love coming to the beach with me and watching me paddleboard! I have several years of experience in customer service working in management roles dealing with different people every day. I love meeting new people and gaining trust especially when it comes to something as important as someone’s fur baby!
Addy
I’m Addy, I’m originally from the Lake District and lived in London for a decade working as a graphic designer and illustrator. I grew tired of the corporate desk bound lifestyle and made a career change to spend my time outside in nature running around with happy dogs.
I’ve always had animals in my life and grew up on a riding stables with a dog kennels and groomer so I have a lot of experience working with animals.
Louise
My name is Louise and I have been dog walking for four years. I worked in the leisure industry for over 20 years but during lockdown decided on a change of career. As a dog owner myself I have always loved a nice walk
